Love People - Living Without Offense

Proverbs 19:11 - "Good sense makes on slow to anger and it his glory to overlook an offense. 

Loving others is Hard

Why is it hard to love others? 

Think about you. You have your own problems. This is why it is hard to try and deal with other people. Your patience is low because of your own situation. 

However, the second greatest command is to LOVE OTHERS. 

When you are wronged, how does it make you feel? 

In Mathew 27 it gives several examples:

  • Jesus delivered to Pilate to be punished as King of the Jews. 
  • Crowd chose Barabbas to be released instead of Jesus. 
  • Pilate delivers Jesus to be crucified. 
  • Jesus was mocked by the people. 
  • Put on a cross and stripped naked and cast lotts for his cloths. 
It wasn't easy for Jesus either. 

Luke 23:34 says - "Father forgive for they know not what they do." 

Jesus lived his life free from offense. 
Jesus had freedom to LOVE others. 

You get to choose how you treat others. 

Philippians 2:3-5 - "3. Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. 4. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. 5. Have this in mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ. 


What insecurities do you have that keep you from loving like Jesus? 

Ecclesiastes 7:21-22 "do not take to heart all the things that people say lest you hear your servant cursing you. Your heart knows that you yourself have cursed others."

Have patience with people. Respect people. Forgive people. Why, because you were once there and someone did that for you. 

What would you life be like if it was free from offense?

How much joy could you have if you didn't get so offended? 

Have a heart like God and love like Jesus did. 

Love covers a multitude of sins.

SIU Womens Soccer: The soccer team as invited me to be a part of their staff. God is moving and I am thankful.  SIU Women's Basketball Season has begun. Being a practice players is a way for me to build trust and relationships. I am thankful.   Saluki Track and Field I have been invited to attend track and field practices.    This is high jumping training!    Encouragement is my role with this team.   SIU Football Practice Hard couple games.
