What questions do you have for god?

Abide in me

John 15: 7-8-

7 If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. 8 This is to my Father’s glory that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.

How many of you ask your parents for stuff and they give you whatever you want?

Why do they?

Why don’t they?

What would they get you if you asked for it?

Deut 4:29

29 But if from there you seek the Lord your God, you will find him if you seek him with all your heart and with all your soul.

Have you ever heard where was God?

This verse says if you seek him with all your heart and all your soul. Maybe we need to seek him with everything we have instead of just when we need him?

God wants you to long for him. All your heart and all your soul.

Spending time with God is about asking him things you wonder about. Ask him about school, family, your future. It is really whatever you want or even desire or just thoughts.

Jeremiah 33:3

3 ‘Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.’

Pray in line with the spirit and truth.

When you align your life with god, you can ask him for the desires of your heart.

Colossians 4:2.

2 Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.

How many of us truly devote ourselves to prayer?

What would that look like?

1 Thessalonians 5:17

Pray continually or pray without ceasing

God wants to hear from you. God wants a relationship with you. Spend time talking to God.

Why is talking to God important?

Ok, what can you do to start this conversation or relationship with God?

 I have three things.

1. create a daily rhythm with God. You get to choose this. There is no right or wrong way to make time with God.

2. Practice a weekly Sabbath.

Why is this important?

3. Plan an annual retreat.

What can you do for this?

Psalm 46:10 says

10 “Be still, and know that I am God.

I will be exalted among the nations,

I will be exalted in the earth!”

Rest in God.

God loves you.

God wants to spend time with you.

Create daily habits to talk with God and spend time with God

Feb 3 2025 Salukis downtime

How many friends did you have in high school?

How many friends did you have during your freshman year in college?

How many of you have gained friends as you’ve gotten older?

Or who has lost friends as they have gotten older?

What work goes into having friends?

What about family? Do you automatically have a relationship with family because you’re related?

What about a girlfriend/boyfriend or even a spouse?

What does it take to have a relationship with someone?

God loves you and is there for you. Today, I will share with you how much God cares about you.

Revelation 3:19-21 19 Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest and repent.

Do you have to call your friend out every once in awhile?

Its actually healthy done the right way.

20 Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they will be with me.

Have you ever felt like God is knocking on your door? Or you just feel like God is there?

God is there waiting for you! Just answer the door.

21 To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat down with my Father on his throne.

You don’t have to pursue God. He is waiting for you to answer the door.

Have you ever been sitting alone and just started thinking about your life and the good things about it? Or even thought about God himself?

Song of Solomon 7:10 - 10 I am my beloved's,

and his desire is for me.

When do you most feel like you are alone or by yourself?

Proverbs 18:10

10 The name of the LORD is a fortified tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.

Where are you doing life as if God isn’t with you?

“Be still, and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10

This permits us to rest in God and his plan for our life. It doesn’t mean it will be easy or perfect. But we know God is with us.

Oftentimes, we take feelings of loneliness, rejection, shame, and guilt and believe that they must be true. Truth isn’t found in our emotions but in God's word. Our mind is the gateway to our emotions. We feel the way we do because of what we perceive and believe. If we engage in renewing our minds to God’s word, our emotions will get in line with truth. You and God are one. There is nothing you or anyone else can do to change that. May the truth of Scripture guide you into a lifestyle of centering your life around the union already available to you in Christ.

God knows - What does God know?

God sees - What does God see?

God hears - What does God hear?

Jesus prays for you.

john 17:20-24

20 “My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, 21 that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. 22 I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one— 23 I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.

24 “Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world.

Jesus praying for you proves and shows that God loves you and is there for you.

Jesus wants us to be where he is regarding his relationship to God and even how God treats him.
